January 2nd, 2016 we had our Joyward Launch party in Tulsa, Oklahoma! It was extremely bittersweet. (I love you all so much!) I think one of my favorite songs from The Paper Kites says it so perfectly, So I’ll go but we know I’ll see you down the line. We’ll hate what we’ve lost but we’ll love what we find.. We aren’t going to loose these Tulsa friendships by any means, every single one of you are incredibly special to us, but our season, our time, and our daily Tulsa life has come to close. It feels like yesterday when it all felt new, and we didn’t know any street names, restaurants, or faces.
Once we got settled into our jobs, found a church, biked around, and drank some coffee (chai latte please) we started to understand our new city.
Thank you, thank you for all of the support, the encouraging letters, the gift cards, the prayers and the care packages. You guys are the sweetest and you’ve made me cry (out of joy and love).
Today we officially set sail on our four month road trip! And it feels….not real? A mix between we are still really tired from finishing up the remodel and being totally excited for seeing all the new places and all the old faces. (not literally old necessarily just old as in we know them). Our first stop is Oklahoma city to see some of our sweet friends.
As we are on this joy focused marriage road trip one of the goals is just learning more about marriage. As we are in our third year, we are obviously still learning new things, often. While on the road, we will be hanging out with some married couple friends and interviewing them. We will talk about all the adventures marriage holds, and how they are moving joyward personally. What I love about these soon collected pieces of information is: the diversity it will offer. Newlyweds and “experts.” Young and “Old.” I can’t wait!
